CENSCOPE Centre for Social Cohesion, Peace and Empowerment (CENSCOPE), a non-profit organization based in Borno, has announced new openings for skilled individuals to join its humanitarian and development programs across Nigeria. Founded in 2014, the organization was established to support victims of armed conflict and natural disasters while promoting self-sustainability, equality, and social justice in communities.
The center focuses on protection, including Mine Action Services, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention, and Child Protection. It also engages in education, WASH initiatives, peacebuilding, livelihood support, governance, and advocacy. The goal is to create lasting impact through inclusive programs that promote peace, empowerment, and opportunity.
Applicants are expected to assist in setting up complaints mechanisms for beneficiaries as part of accountability measures and to deliver risk education to at-risk groups. The role also includes maintaining project data, supporting participatory approaches, conducting needs assessments, and developing clear weekly and monthly work plans. CENSCOPE added that successful candidates will help manage individual cases and ensure proper documentation using tools such as Kobo.
The organization emphasized the importance of communication and leadership skills. “Fluency in English, Hausa, and Kanuri is essential for effective community engagement,” a spokesperson noted. Candidates must demonstrate competence in Microsoft Office, have strong interpersonal skills, and show the ability to work under pressure.
CENSCOPE requires applicants to hold a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Development Studies, or related disciplines. The organization stated that “female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply” as part of its inclusion and diversity policy.
Interested individuals should send their CVs and motivation letters to recruitment@censcope.org. The organization reminded applicants that it does not charge any fee for recruitment and that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
