Essay Themes
Applicants are required to choose one of the following topics:
- Creating Employment Pathways for People with Disabilities in Nigeria
- How Nigeria Can Improve Access to Care and Opportunities for People Living with Disabilities
- Improving Early Diagnosis, Intervention, and Support Systems for Autism in Africa
Each topic is designed to push students towards critical thinking and policy-oriented recommendations.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this competition, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a 100 Level (first-year) student in a Nigerian university
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be enrolled in an accredited Medical or Nursing programme in Nigeria
This ensures that participants are early in their academic journey but already positioned within the healthcare field.
Submission Requirements
All essays must meet strict academic standards. Submissions that fail to comply may be disqualified.
- Essay must be original and unpublished
- Word count must be 1,000 words
- APA (7th edition) referencing style is mandatory
- Essay must be written in English
