The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially published the list of successful candidates who passed the screening test for the 77 Regular Course and are now invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) interview. The screening test was conducted nationwide on Saturday, 14 June 2025. This update is crucial for thousands of Nigerian youths aspiring for a career in the military and comes with important instructions for all shortlisted candidates.

According to a public announcement signed by Brigadier General OA Ogunleye, Academy Registrar, “Successful candidates whose names appear on the list are to appear before the AFSB for interview from Saturday, 28 June to Saturday, 16 August 2025, at the NDA Ribadu Campus (Old Site), Kaduna.”

To streamline the interview process and accommodate candidates properly, the NDA has grouped the successful applicants into two batches based on their states of origin.

Batch 1 candidates are to report between Saturday, 28 June – Friday, 18 July 2025. States under this batch include:

1. Anambra
2. Akwa Ibom
3. Bauchi
4. Bayelsa
5. Borno
6. Cross River
7. Ebonyi
8. FCT-Abuja
9. Imo
10. Kano
11. Plateau
12. Katsina
13. Kebbi
14. Kwara
15. Lagos
16. Niger
17. Ogun
18. Osun
19. Taraba

Batch 2 candidates are to report from Saturday, 19 July – Friday, 8 August 2025. States in this group are:

1. Abia
2. Adamawa
3. Benue
4. Delta
5. Enugu
6. Ekiti
7. Edo
8. Gombe
9. Kaduna
10. Kogi
11. Nassarawa
12. Ondo
13. Oyo
14. Jigawa
15. Rivers
16. Sokoto
17. Yobe
18. Zamfara

The NDA warns that “Candidates who fail to report on their scheduled date, Saturday, 28 June for Batch 1 or Saturday, 19 July for Batch 2, will not be allowed to attend the interview.” Additionally, candidates in Batch 2 found around the NDA premises before 19 July will be disqualified.

All candidates will undergo a thorough screening exercise during their stay at the AFSB, which includes:

a. Verification of documents and certificates
b. Medical and physical fitness tests
c. Individual and group obstacle challenges
d. A 3.2-kilometre race

Only those who pass all stages will proceed in the interview process. Candidates who fail any stage will be disqualified.

Required Documents

Candidates must come along with originals and two photocopies of the following:

1. 2025 JAMB UTME Registration Slip
2. NDA Acknowledgement Form and Screening Test Admission Card
3. Academic certificates or statements of results for Primary and Secondary education
4. Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
5. Letter of Attestation of State/Local Government 6. Indigeneship
7. Letter of Consent from Parent/Guardian

If the Indigeneship Certificate is from a military officer, the officer must be of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent in the Navy or Air Force and must provide full formation/unit details, contact address, phone number, and stamp the document.

According to the NDA, “Candidates who fail to present any of these documents or bring altered documents will be disqualified.” Both the Attestation and Letter of Consent Forms can be downloaded from the NDA portal.

All candidates are to bring the following:

Writing materials
Three blue shorts and three white round-neck T-shirts
A pair of white canvas shoes and three pairs of white socks
Toiletries
N3,500 non-refundable fee for result verification
Scratch cards for WAEC and/or NECO results
Four recent colored passport photographs
A second copy of the Postcard Photograph used during the NDA Screening
Sufficient transport money to and from Kaduna

All candidates will be accommodated and fed throughout their stay at the NDA.
