Check Nigerian Army Shortlisted Candidates for SSC 49/2026 Screening

The Nigerian Army has released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission Course (SSC) 49/2026. Successful applicants are to take part in the screening exercise scheduled to begin on 1 December 2025.

According to the announcement, shortlist led candidates are expected to arrive Kaduna on 30 November 2025 and must report to the Selection Board at the Nigerian Defence Academy Ribadu Campus between 6 am and 11 am on the opening day.

The Army stated that shortlisted candidates must present original documents and at least two photocopies of all required credentials placed inside a file jacket. These documents include academic and professional certificates, testimonials, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, birth certificates from recognised authorities, certificates of state of origin and identification documents for military personnel. Candidates are also expected to provide a printed Bank Verification Number certificate authenticated by a bank, their NIN slip or card and completed printouts from the SSCC portal including referee forms.

In addition to documents, successful candidates must bring personal items such as writing materials, three pairs of blue shorts, three white T-shirts, a pair of white canvas shoes, white socks, a bucket, toiletries and cutlery. Beddings, including blankets, bedspreads and pillowcases, are required. Candidates must also present four full-size coloured photographs taken in a standing position while wearing a suit, four passport photographs and scratch cards for verifying WAEC or NECO results. A duly signed Letter of Consent from a parent or guardian, endorsed at a recognised court and confirmed by a Commissioner of Oath, is compulsory.

The Army stated that the screening will involve document verification, physical, medical and academic tests, followed by an oral interview.
