The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has invited Nigerian tertiary institutions to participate in the 2026 CIPM Inter-Tertiary Quiz Competition, designed for undergraduate students studying Human Resource Management and other related Management and Social Science courses.
According to the institute, the competition is part of efforts to strengthen knowledge in human resource management and related disciplines among students while preparing them for future roles in the professional environment.
CIPM stated that the initiative is aimed at deepening students’ understanding of human resource practice, business management, and other related fields. It also seeks to provide participants with an opportunity to engage with experienced professionals and industry leaders.
“The competition is designed to broaden and enrich the students’ knowledge in the field of Human Resource, Business Management and the related discipline,” the institute said.
CIPM also noted that the quiz competition will expose participants to valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders and human resource professionals. Students will have the opportunity to interact with key stakeholders during the CIPM International Conference and Exhibition scheduled to hold from September 21 to 24, 2026.
The institute further explained that the programme will help improve academic excellence among participating students while strengthening their employability skills.
“To leverage the opportunity of the competition to network with Captains of Industries and rich network of Human Resource Professionals at the International Conference and Exhibitions holding on 21st -24th September 2026,” CIPM stated.
Participants also stand a chance to benefit from several incentives attached to the competition. According to the organisers, the top three winners at the national level will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Abuja to attend the CIPM 2026 International Conference and Exhibition.
“Prize awards will also be presented to winners at both the regional and national levels,” the institute said, adding that participants will gain access to a wide network of employers and human resource professionals.
In terms of eligibility, CIPM said only undergraduates studying Human Resource Management and other related Social Science or Management Science courses in Nigerian tertiary institutions are qualified to participate. Each institution is expected to nominate only two students to represent it at the regional quiz stage.
The competition will be conducted virtually across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones — North Central, North East, North West, South East, South South and South West. The top six institutions that emerge from the regional rounds will advance to the national quiz competition where the overall winners will be determined.
“The Regional and National Quiz Competition will be held in April/May 2026, while the exact date will be communicated to participating institutions,” CIPM said.
The institute added that nominated students must submit their full name, institutional identification card, course of study, copy of admission letter, recent passport photograph, as well as their mobile phone number and email address.
CIPM emphasised that nominations must be submitted by the institutions and not by the students themselves.
“The details of the two nominees from each tertiary institution should be sent to quizcompetition@cipmnigeria.org using the name of the institution as the subject of the mail,” the institute stated.
The registration deadline for the competition is March 31, 2026, and entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
