August 19, 2025 – Cross River State Government has announced the release of the shortlist for successful farmers’ cooperatives under the Subsidized Mini Tractor Acquisition Scheme.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Development confirmed this in a public service announcement issued on August 19, 2025, in Calabar.
According to the statement, “the list of successful cooperatives has been released and is available at the Ministry Headquarters in Calabar.”
All shortlisted groups are directed to visit the Department of Agricultural Mechanisation and Irrigation at the Ministry Headquarters to complete documentation without delay.
The scheme is part of efforts to support farmers with affordable access to mechanised farming equipment, improve food production, and promote agricultural growth. Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s administration said it remains focused on the People First Agenda.
“The administration is fully committed to supporting farmers, enhancing mechanised farming, and boosting agricultural productivity,” Hon. Johnson A. Ebokpo, Commissioner for Agriculture and Irrigation Development, stated.
