The Dangote Cement Plc HEMM Operators Training Programme is now open for applications. This programme is designed to develop safe, skilled, and competent operators for mining operations, while building a pool of well-trained candidates who can eventually take up roles as Dangote Cement certified Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) operators.
Dangote Group is one of Africa’s largest conglomerates, operating across several industries including cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, oil and gas, and other sectors. Through this training initiative, the company aims to equip young Nigerians with the practical skills and safety knowledge required to operate heavy-duty mining equipment effectively.
The programme will combine behavioural screening, safety training, classroom instruction, simulations, workshops, and intensive field practice. These components are designed to prepare participants for the safe and efficient operation of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery in real mining environments.
The training will take place in Kogi State and will last for six months.
Successful candidates will enjoy several benefits throughout the training period. These include free hostel accommodation and basic healthcare during the programme, monthly stipends paid at the company’s approved rate, a Dangote Cement HEMM Operator Certificate upon completion, and a Group H Driver’s License.
To be eligible, applicants must be secondary school graduates with a minimum of five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics in WAEC or NECO. Technical college graduates with a National Technical Certificate (NTC), NABTEB, or Trade Test I, II, or III are also eligible to apply. Candidates must be between 22 and 35 years old, possess a valid means of identification, and be physically and mentally fit. Applicants should also demonstrate strong safety awareness, discipline, and willingness to undergo intensive training and assessments. Previous mining or equipment operation experience is an added advantage but is not mandatory.
Engagement as a HEMM operator will depend on available vacancies, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
