June 15, 2025 – Dangote Petroleum Refinery has launched a nationwide initiative that will offer fuel buyers access to a special credit facility, free logistics, and expanded supply services. This new scheme is set to begin on 15th August 2025, and it is already generating attention across several industries, including petroleum, manufacturing, telecommunications, and aviation.
The Dangote Refinery confirmed this news in an official release, stating that it will distribute Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel directly to marketers, petrol station owners, manufacturers, telecom operators, aviation companies, and other large users across the country.
“We are launching a strategic programme aimed at improving fuel availability and lowering distribution costs for critical sectors,” the company said in the statement. “The Dangote Refinery is also offering a credit facility to qualifying buyers to help ease the burden of fuel costs.”
The credit facility will apply to any buyer purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres of PMS or diesel. According to Dangote, those who meet the threshold can access an additional 500,000 litres on credit, with a two-week repayment window, provided there is a valid bank guarantee.
This move is part of a broader plan to improve fuel access and drive economic growth. The company says it has already invested in 4,000 brand-new CNG-powered tankers to support the distribution of fuel across Nigeria. These vehicles will be used to deliver fuel directly to petrol stations and large-scale users at no cost, reducing the pressure on businesses and helping to stabilise fuel prices.
In addition to the tankers, Dangote is building CNG daughter booster stations nationwide. These stations, backed by over 100 CNG tankers, are designed to boost energy efficiency and support fuel delivery in both urban and rural areas.
“This initiative affirms our dedication to improving the availability and affordability of fuel,” the statement continued. “It also supports the ongoing efforts to stabilise Nigeria’s economy, reduce inflation, and promote nationwide development.”
Industry experts believe this move will revive dormant petrol stations, create more jobs, and stimulate activities in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The expected outcome is increased government revenue, improved fuel access in rural locations, and renewed investor confidence in the downstream petroleum sector.
“This is not just a business venture,” Dangote Refinery said. “It is a commitment to the well-being of all Nigerians.”
The initiative is also aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has been pushing reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s economy. Dangote specifically thanked the Federal Government for its support and for sustaining the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which has played a vital role in keeping fuel supply steady during recent global disruptions.
“This partnership with the government reflects our shared goal of economic stability and inclusive growth,” the statement read.
