Edo State Government has announced a call for nominations under the Edo State Public Service Re-tooling Program, known as Edo-PREP, to recognise civil and public officers who have shown strong commitment to productivity, good governance, and professional ethics. According to the Public Service Merit Awards Committee, the initiative aims to honour officers who have demonstrated what the government describes as “exceptional dedication to excellence in the service.”
The committee stated that all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are required to nominate two deserving officers who meet key criteria, which include productivity and efficiency, proper dress code, integrity and ethics, as well as leadership and teamwork. The award categories listed are overall performance, integrity and ethical conduct, and lifetime achievement, reflecting the government’s focus on service delivery and public sector transparency.
The nomination process requires full details of each officer, including full name, academic or professional qualifications, curriculum vitae, date of first appointment into the service, and one recent passport-sized photograph with a white background. The committee added that all entries must be submitted on or before Friday, 20 November 2025, noting that “late entries will not be entertained, as excellence waits for no one.” A justification letter of not more than 50 words must also be included. The notice was signed by the Chairman, Public Service Merit Committee.
