The Edo State Government has revoked the operational licenses of Faith Immaculate College and Liberty Primary School, while also ordering the immediate closure of Vision Land Primary School and Future Leaders Primary School due to their involvement in examination malpractice and unauthorized enrollment activities.

According to Mr. Orire Gabriel, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics at the Ministry of Education, the enforcement was carried out in collaboration with the State Taskforce. The team delivered official revocation letters and sealed the premises of the affected schools.

He stated, “The Government under Senator Monday Okpebholo has zero tolerance for examination malpractice and all forms of administrative misconduct that can affect the Internal Generation of Revenue in the State.” He added that school owners must ensure proper remittance to government agencies during enrollment periods.

The government also warned that failure to comply with registration guidelines may lead to serious penalties. “All private school owners who have not registered their schools must do so within seven days or risk similar sanctions,” Mr. Gabriel stressed.

To avoid disrupting ongoing NECO examinations, students from the affected schools have been relocated to nearby schools.

The move ensures continuity in their academic activities while the government continues its crackdown on non-compliant institutions, reinforcing the importance of educational integrity, school license compliance, and revenue accountability.
