The Edo State Ministry of Education, in partnership with SkillUp Naija, has commenced virtual training for more than 6,000 teachers under the new Skills Integration Policy. The program aims to position at least six SkillUp Edo ambassadors in every school across the state.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, explained that the training focuses on practical digital skills.

“The program covers coding and programming, artificial intelligence, web development, video editing, social media management, vlogging and blogging,” he stated.

According to the Ministry, once the training is completed, teachers will be certified and appointed as SkillUp Edo ambassadors in their schools to help students develop technology-driven abilities.

The initiative reflects the leadership vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo. He has emphasized his administration’s commitment to equipping students not only in academics but also in character development and skill certification, aligning with global educational standards.
