Edo State Ministry Of Education has announced that all public and private schools in the state will officially resume for the first term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, 8th September, 2025.
According to the Ministry, academic activities will begin on the first day of resumption. Parents and guardians have been advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly without delay.
The statement reads, “Academic activities will commence on the first day of resumption. Consequently, parents and guardians are strongly advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly.”
To ensure full compliance, the Ministry revealed that its Back-To-School Task Team will be deployed across the state. “The Ministry will deploy its Back-To-School Task Team to ensure that no school-aged child is found loitering during school hours,” the statement added.
It further noted that authorised Education Officers will monitor schools to confirm compliance with the directive.
“All stakeholders in the education sector are enjoined to take note of this directive. Strict adherence is expected, and noncompliance will attract severe penalties in accordance with the laws and regulations governing education in the state,” the Ministry stated.
