July 20, 2025 – The Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has denied any involvement with a list currently circulating online, which claims to be an official list of newly employed teachers.
In a circular dated Sunday, July 20th, 2025, addressed to Acting Education Secretaries, HPMs, School Leaders, and Teachers, the Executive Chairman of Edo SUBEB issued a clear disclaimer to the public.
“I am directed to bring to the attention of the general public that a list of employment of teachers is currently circulating online, purporting to be an official list from the Board. We hereby disclaim any responsibility or authenticity of the said list,” the Chairman stated.
The Board emphasized that the list did not originate from SUBEB and should therefore be disregarded. The statement went on to advise the public on how to verify any employment-related information.
“We want to inform the public that any list of employment or recruitment of teachers should be verified through official channels, such as SUBEB website or direct communication with the office,” the circular explained.
SUBEB also assured the public of its commitment to transparency and accountability.
“We will make official announcements and publications through our recognised channels,” it added.
The Board urged the public to ignore the circulating list and reiterated its dedication to sharing accurate information only through proper means.
“Please disregard the list in question, and be assured that we will communicate any official information regarding teachers’ employment through proper means,” it concluded.
