August 22, 2025 – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on Nigerians who lost money to the fraudulent online platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), to come forward and assist with investigations.
The Commission announced that it is prosecuting three suspects, Adefowoara Abiodun Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo and Ehirim Justice Chukwuebuka, over alleged involvement in the scam.
According to the EFCC, the suspects used the platform to lure investors with the promise of unrealistic returns on investment, leading to significant financial losses for many people.
The Commission noted that victims who invested through individuals connected to CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, should report to its zonal directorates.
“Victims who invested their funds through individuals linked to the CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, are invited to report to the Ibadan Zonal Directorate and Lagos Zonal Directorate 2,” the EFCC said.
The EFCC further provided the contact addresses of the two offices where victims can present their complaints:
i. 16A, Reverend Oyebode Crescent, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State.
ii. 7A, Okotie-Eboh Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The Commission, headquartered at Plot 301/302, Institution and Research, Cadastral District, Jabi, Abuja, stressed that the support of victims will strengthen the ongoing prosecution.
