The Ekiti State Government will officially launch the distribution of subsidized fertilizers to farmers on Monday, July 14, 2025, as part of efforts to support food production and strengthen the agricultural sector.
According to the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, the flag-off ceremony will be held at the ADP Seed Processing Centre, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti, by 2:00 PM.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to food security, improved crop yield, and reducing the burden of rising input costs for farmers,” said Boluwade.
The Commissioner explained that the programme targets farmers across the state to ensure fair and equitable access to agricultural inputs. He urged all registered farmers and farming associations to participate in the programme and benefit from the state-backed support.
He also commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving a 50% subsidy on the Indorama Urea and NPK 15:15:15+2.6S OCP fertilisers.
“We are committed to a transparent and efficient distribution process that reaches the real farmers,” Boluwade assured, adding that this is just one of several steps in Ekiti’s broader agricultural transformation plan.
He said the Ministry will continue to provide timely inputs, organize capacity-building programmes, and facilitate farmers’ access to local and national markets to boost food supply and economic growth.
