The Enugu East Local Government Council has taken a major step to strengthen human capital development by supporting young people through targeted education initiatives. According to the council chairman, Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, the administration is focused on boosting opportunities through strategic investment in quality education and high-demand skills. The council secured admission for 16 students into reputable universities, with 15 placed at Maduka University in Enugu and 1 at Base University in Abuja to study medical and engineering courses.
“We are committed to increasing the Human Capital Index of Enugu East LGA by investing in high-demand skills and academic courses that will position our youths for the future of work and global competitiveness,” Engr. Anike stated. This move is expected to support youth empowerment, improve access to education and strengthen long-term economic growth.
Parents of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation, describing the scholarships as a timely support. “A big thank you to the Mayor and his team for this life-changing opportunity!” one parent said.
LGA Secretary Barr. Uche Mbaeke encouraged the students to excel, adding, “The council expects great things from you!”
