The Enugu State Government, through the Enugu SME Center, has announced the opening of applications for the Enugu Fashion Incubation Training Program (EFIT) in partnership with the Enugu Fashion & Garment Hub. The initiative aims to nurture young fashion talents and turn their creativity into professional skills and sustainable enterprises.
According to the organizers, “Fashion is more than clothing, it is an expression of culture, creativity, and identity. But passion alone is not enough; passion must be nurtured, refined, and transformed into skill and enterprise.” The program is designed to achieve exactly that by providing intensive hands-on training for aspiring designers, apprentices, and fashion enthusiasts.
The Enugu Fashion & Garment Hub, described as a world-class vocational and production center, is set to train participants to become industry-ready professionals. EFIT will run as a 12-week intensive training held at the Anamco Factory, Plot 18, Emene Industrial Layout, along Akanu Ibiam International Airport Road, Enugu. Each cohort admits 200 trainees, divided into morning and afternoon sessions, allowing participants to balance learning with their daily activities.
The training fee is subsidized at ₦50,000. Participants can pay in full, split the payment into two installments, or take advantage of the Human Capital Development Loan under the “Learn Now, Pay Later” scheme offered by the Enugu SME Center.
The program covers fashion design fundamentals, fabric knowledge, pattern making, sewing techniques, production management, and quality control. Participants will also work on a final capstone project. Graduates will receive certificates accredited by the Enugu State Ministry of Education (TVET Board) and the National Skills Qualification Board, recognized across Nigeria.
Upon completion, trainees will access job placement support, business advisory services, and opportunities to use the hub’s machines at subsidized rates. “This program promises to be a stepping stone for careers, an environment where creativity meets structure,” the organizers stated.
