FAAN in partnership with Paystack has announced the roll-out of OPERATION GO CASHLESS, a new cashless and contactless payment solution across all airports in Nigeria, beginning with Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The initiative officially takes effect on September 29, 2025.
According to FAAN, all payments at the agency’s revenue points including airport Access Gates, Car Parks, FAAN VIP and Protocol Lounges will go fully cashless. “This means we will be phasing out the collection of cash at these points. Travelers and airport users will now enjoy fast and seamless services by using a secure contactless payment option,” the authority stated.
The agency explained that the decision responds to the increasing demand for safe, modern, and transparent payment systems while ensuring Nigeria’s airports keep up with global digital trends. The transition is also aimed at improving efficiency, boosting revenue assurance, and creating a better customer experience for travelers.
To support travelers and airport users during the change, trained brand ambassadors have been deployed at access gates and terminals. These ambassadors will guide users, assist with onboarding, provide live demonstrations, and answer questions from passengers.
In addition, passengers can obtain a FAAN Go Cashless Card at any airport access gate in Lagos and Abuja. After collection, users are encouraged to activate and fund their cards immediately by visiting www.gocashless.faan.gov.ng for smooth transactions.
FAAN further noted that the cashless policy will be expanded in phases to cover other airports nationwide as part of its commitment to continuous improvement and digital transformation in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
