Applications are now open for Farmer Moni, a Federal Government initiative designed to support smallholder farmers in all States. Farmers who want to expand their agribusiness now have the opportunity to apply through the official portal recently launched by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction in partnership with the National Social Investment Programme Agency.
FarmerMoni offers interest-free loans of up to ₦300,000 to eligible smallholder farmers. The loan is aimed at helping farmers purchase essential inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, farm equipment, and other materials needed to improve productivity. The programme is structured to strengthen small-scale farmers, boost food production, and support long-term growth in the agricultural sector.
The scheme operates under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), a flagship initiative of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). GEEP promotes financial inclusion and economic empowerment by providing zero-interest, collateral-free loans to farmers, petty traders, artisans, and market women across Nigeria.
Successful applicants will benefit from access to loans of up to ₦300,000, a three-month moratorium before repayment begins, and no collateral requirements. The programme also gives special consideration to women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
