The Federal Government has opened applications for the 3MTT NextGen Fellowship, a new initiative announced by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani. He explained that the programme represents “another important milestone in our mission to make Nigeria a net-exporter of technology talent.” The NextGen Fellowship operates as a special track under the 3 Million Technical Talent programme and is supported by the Airtel Africa Foundation.
According to the ministry, the Fellowship focuses on exceptional young Nigerians and provides digital skills, mentorship, and hands-on experience designed to turn training into real job opportunities. It is also built on Airtel’s ₦1 billion digital inclusion commitment aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s future workforce in key technology areas. Participants will gain free training, access to top professionals, project experience, a national tech community, and real career pathways that support high value digital jobs and financial growth.
The available skills include software development, data science, UI/UX design, cloud computing, product management, cybersecurity, and AI and machine learning. Interested young Nigerians can apply through the official portal Link as a Fellow, an Applied Learning Cluster, or a Dev in Government, with top applicants moving into the NextGen cohort.
