The Federal Ministry of Education has announced that coursework for Cohort 1 of the Accelerated Teacher Professionalisation Pathway (ATPP) 2026–2027 officially began on Monday, November 2.

The programme is being implemented with the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Admitted learners have been urged to log in to the learning portal and complete the ATPP Learner Orientation Course.

The ministry said learners who have not accessed the portal should do so immediately to catch up with the coursework. The update also provides guidance for participants experiencing login difficulties, forgotten passwords or uncertainty about the email address used during application.

Two websites are used for the programme, but learners are expected to use the same email address and password on both.

The application portal, apply.atpp.education.gov.ng, is used to view application details, admission status and reset passwords. The learning management system (LMS), lms.atpp.education.gov.ng, provides access to the orientation course, modules and learning materials.

Learners should ensure they are visiting the correct portal before attempting to sign in. The ministry’s login guide warns against creating a new account if a learner cannot access an existing one, as a new account will not be linked to the admission.

Those who have forgotten their password can visit the application portal and select “Reset It” under the password recovery option. They should enter the email address used during registration, then check their inbox and spam or junk folder for the reset message.

After creating a new password, learners can sign in to the LMS using the same email address and password.

Participants who have forgotten their registered email address are advised to search their email accounts for “ATPP” messages. Applicants who signed up through Google should use the Gmail address linked to their account. They can also test possible email addresses through the password reset option to identify the one registered.

The login guide further advises learners facing an “Invalid token” message to log out completely, request a fresh reset link and use only the latest email received.

Learners who cannot find their course should search for “ATPP Learner Orientation Course” on the LMS and select “Start Learning.”

The announcement does not indicate a new application window; it addresses admitted participants and access to learning activities. Learners should rely on official ATPP channels for updates programme.
