The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, on Monday, 1st September 2025, attended the opening ceremony of the Africa Food Systems Forum held in Dakar, Senegal.
The forum served as a high-level continental platform that brought together Heads of State, Ministers, policymakers, development partners, private sector leaders, and experts to deliberate on strategies to accelerate the transformation of Africa’s food systems.
Nigeria’s participation, led by Senator Kyari, highlights the country’s commitment to strengthening regional collaboration in achieving sustainable food security, agricultural innovation, and inclusive growth for farmers and stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.
Speaking at the event, the Minister emphasized the Federal Government’s drive to ensure that Nigeria contributes meaningfully to Africa’s agricultural development.
“The Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is determined to build resilient and competitive food systems that will not only feed our nation but also contribute to Africa’s collective prosperity,” Senator Kyari stated.
