At the primary school level, pupils in Primary 1 to 3 will now offer a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 10 subjects. Pupils in Primary 4 to 6 will be allowed to offer between 10 and 12 subjects. For Junior Secondary School, the number of subjects ranges from 12 to 14.

Professor Ahmad noted, “this step reflects the government’s commitment to delivering quality education that is relevant, practical, and responsive to the needs of learners in today’s rapidly changing world.”

The Ministry commended all stakeholders for their teamwork and active involvement in the review process, describing the outcome as a stronger and future-focused curriculum for Nigerian learners.
