The Federal Government has empowered 500 women in Ogun State with equipment such as grinding machines, deep freezers, and generators under the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The empowerment programme, which took place at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta, was designed to support small-scale enterprises and strengthen household income.
Speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Mrs. Taiwo Bello, who represented Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, said the initiative is focused on unlocking potential and improving economic opportunities for women.
“The Renewed Hope Initiative seeks to promote economic independence and create opportunities for women across the country,” she stated.
The Wife of the Ogun State Governor and Coordinator of the Initiative, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, praised the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her commitment to bridging gaps in women’s empowerment. She noted that such interventions will go a long way in supporting female entrepreneurs.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Women Affairs described the programme as timely and encouraged beneficiaries to use the items effectively to promote self-reliance and community development.
