The Federal Government has launched EduTrace, a National Track, Trace and Asset Intelligence Platform designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the management of education assets nationwide.
Unveiling the platform, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, described EduTrace as “a transformative digital solution” under the National Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI). He said the system addresses longstanding challenges in tracking instructional materials, digital devices, and other education resources deployed across federal, state, and local government levels.
EduTrace provides real-time visibility into the procurement, storage, distribution, handover, and utilization of government-funded education assets. Using barcodes, QR codes, RFID tagging, geotagging, and Mobile Device Management technologies, each asset is assigned a unique digital identity, ensuring end-to-end traceability and verifiable records throughout its lifecycle.
The platform serves as a unified national framework and single source of truth for education asset management, strengthening governance, planning, budgeting, and audit readiness.
Officials said that with EduTrace, diversion, loss, and misuse of education resources can be detected and prevented, reinforcing stakeholder confidence and public trust.
The Federal Ministry of Education reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology to safeguard public investments and improve service delivery nationwide.
