The Federal Government has introduced a new initiative aimed at training 20 content creators to promote accurate and balanced information about Nigeria’s new tax reform laws.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, in a post shared on X on Monday. The initiative, tagged “Influencing for Good,” invites Nigerians to nominate content creators who are already helping to educate their audiences about the new tax reforms or those who they believe should take on the role.
According to Nigeriastartupact.ng, President Bola Tinubu had earlier signed into law four major tax reform bills in June. These include the Nigeria Tax Bill, the Nigeria Tax Administration Bill, the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill, and the Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill. These reforms are part of efforts to modernize tax administration, improve revenue generation, and simplify compliance for citizens and businesses.
Oyedele explained that the top 20 creators with the highest nominations will be selected for a special training session designed to help them share factual and useful information about the new tax laws with their followers. He emphasized that the goal of the programme is to counter misinformation and promote trust in verified sources.
He wrote, “INFLUENCING FOR GOOD. Nominate a content creator who’s been educating their audience about Nigeria’s new tax reform laws or someone you’d like to see do so. We’ll be selecting the top 20 creators with the most nominations for a special training to help them share accurate, balanced, and useful tax information with their followers.”
Oyedele added, “Misinformation spreads fast, often to the author’s benefit but to the audience’s loss. Accurate information may travel slower, but it empowers everyone, and earns lasting trust.”
Nominations will close on November 9, 2025, and interested Nigerians can submit entries via the link https://forms.gle/6QMULojAA92GkJC47.
December 7, Update: The form link in this report has been updated.
