The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has officially taken control of the Agadagba Skill Acquisition Centre in Ese Odo Local Government Area, Ondo State. This move is aimed at empowering young Nigerians with practical skills and creating more economic opportunities.

Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele, the Minister for Youth Development, made this announcement via his social media page. He stated, “This strategic move reaffirms the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to broaden access to skills-based education and economic opportunities, particularly for young Nigerians in riverine and underserved communities.”

During the official handover in Abuja, the minister revealed that the Centre will be upgraded into a National Youth Camp. The new camp will go beyond vocational training and include digital innovation, leadership development, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and community service.

“We will introduce modern vocational programs, upgrade infrastructure, and deploy qualified professionals to ensure the Centre operates effectively under its new and expanded mandate,” Ayodele explained.

He also promised that the Centre would be managed in a transparent and purposeful way, assuring all stakeholders, including local communities and traditional institutions, of the Centre’s long-term benefits.

The project highlights the federal government’s push for youth empowerment, digital skills development, and entrepreneurship training. These areas are vital for reducing unemployment and encouraging innovation among Nigeria’s youth.
