The Federal Government, in partnership with the World Bank, has disbursed ₦45,000 to IDEAS-TVET trainees as a stipend to eligible beneficiaries in April 2026.
Nigeria Startup News reports that the payment was only received by some of the trainees, as many others confirmed that no payment was received, not even ₦22,500.
Some enrolled Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills – Technical and Vocational Education and Training (IDEAS-TVET) trainees received a credit alert of ₦45,000 as part of their support package.
Note that IDEAS-TVET is different from the regular TVET programme, as it is powered by the Nigerian government and the World Bank.
The SMS obtained by Nigeria Startup News on Thursday reads: “Credit Amt: NGN45,000.00

However, the payment took place on April 8, 2026. Some IDEAS-TVET trainees have confirmed the ₦45,000 payments.
Trainees have confirmed receiving payment with posts like, “I received ₦45,000 yesterday.”
This stipend is part of the broader Nigerian Youth Employment through Skills Acquisition Fund (NYESAF) under the IDEAS-TVET initiative, supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and the World Bank. The project aims to equip Nigerian youth with practical, market-relevant vocational skills that enhance employability and self-reliance.
Each beneficiary will receive the monthly stipend alongside starter kits and additional support to help trainees practise skills both at training centres and independently.
Only some IDEAS-TVET trainees who have completed registration and physical verification, and are participating at their training locations, are receiving these stipends.
