Fidelity Bank Plc is set to host a Gele Masterclass on Monday, March 30, 2026, as part of its ongoing women-focused empowerment drive designed to equip participants with practical, income-generating skills while strengthening their professional visibility and career growth under its HerFidelity initiative.

The session, positioned as both a cultural and economic opportunity, will train women on the art of gele tying, with a clear focus on how the skill can be commercialised for events, styling services, and personal branding. It forms the second phase of the bank’s March programme held to mark International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain”.

The Gele Masterclass builds on an earlier session held on March 18, where participants received practical training in communication and presentation. That session focused on audience engagement, event moderation, confidence-building, and personal branding, targeting women seeking to improve their public speaking and professional presence.

Beyond skills training, the bank will also provide professional headshot sessions to enable participants update their personal and business profiles, reinforcing its push to improve how women present themselves in professional and entrepreneurial spaces.

Speaking on the initiative, the Divisional Head of Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Banking at Fidelity Bank, Ms Ugochi Osinigwe, said the programme is designed to deliver practical value.

“At Fidelity Bank, we believe that empowering women economically creates an impact that extends beyond the individual. It strengthens families, grows businesses, and uplifts communities,” she said.

She added, “We want women to leave these sessions with practical tools they can apply immediately, whether that is speaking confidently in public, building a stronger personal brand, or learning a skill that can generate income.”

The masterclass is part of a broader strategy that includes the bank’s HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme and the recently launched Give Her Power initiative, which is expanding access to vocational training, business support, and enterprise opportunities for women across Nigeria, alongside the distribution of 1,000 sewing and grinding machines to support women-led microbusinesses.
