The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), through its Department of Mathematical Sciences, has announced a call for applications for the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training (ICM) Programme under Region 9 (Sub-Saharan Africa).
This opportunity is designed to support academic staff in gaining international exposure, strengthening institutional collaboration, and enhancing professional development through short-term training in Europe.
About the Programme
The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility (ICM) programme offers selected participants the opportunity to undertake a training visit at the University of L’Aquila, Italy. The mobility is strictly for training purposes and aims to improve teaching, research capacity, and cross-cultural academic exchange.
The duration of the programme ranges from 5 to 14 days, with an additional two days allocated for travel.

The selected candidates will be hosted by the University of L’Aquila, a reputable Italian institution known for its strong academic and research culture.

Only two (2) slots are available for this mobility programme, making it highly competitive among eligible staff members.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must:
- Be a staff member of FUTA
- Demonstrate proficiency in either English or Italian
Preference may be given to candidates with a strong academic background in Mathematics or related disciplines.
Mobility Period
The mobility is scheduled to take place during:
- Second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, or
- First semester of the 2026/2027 academic session
