The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), through its Centre for Renewable Energy Technology (CRET), has officially opened applications for its 2025/2026 postgraduate programmes in Renewable Energy Technology (RET).
The programme offers advanced training in green hydrogen, solar, wind, biomass, and other renewable energy systems.
According to the announcement, the Master’s degree options include:
i. M.Tech in Green Hydrogen Energy Technology (GHET)
ii. M.Tech in Renewable Energy Technology (RET)
iii. M.Phil in Renewable Energy Technology (RET)
These will run for two academic sessions, covering four semesters or approximately 18 months.
For candidates interested in a research-focused path, the Ph.D programme offers specializations in:
i. Hydropower Systems
ii. Solar Energy Systems
iii. Wind Energy Systems
iv. Hybrid Systems
v. Biomass and Waste Energy Systems
vi. Strategic Energy Management
The Ph.D runs for 36 months full-time and 48 months part-time.
Eligibility:
Master’s programme
a. At least a second class lower in B.Sc or B.Tech
b. Five O-Level credits in relevant science subjects, obtained in no more than two sittings
Ph.D
a. Candidates must have at least 60% or 3.5 CGPA in a related Master’s degree
b. Those with lower scores may apply for M.Phil/Ph.D and later convert to Ph.D after meeting required standards
