The Gateway Programme has officially begun, targeting 340,000 young Nigerians with training in high-demand digital skills and direct access to global gig work opportunities.
The five-year initiative, implemented by Co-creation HUB Ltd (CcHUB), is positioned as a major intervention to tackle youth unemployment by preparing young people for the rapidly expanding global gig economy, projected to reach $1.85 trillion by 2032. Rather than focusing only on training, the programme is structured to ensure participants transition into sustainable income through real work opportunities.
Designed to bridge Nigeria’s persistent skills-to-employment gap, the GATEWAY Programme equips participants with practical, market-relevant competencies needed in today’s flexible digital economy. The training focuses on four in-demand creative fields: Digital Marketing, Video Production and Editing, Graphic Design, and UI/UX Design—areas with strong global demand and remote work potential.
“The GATEWAY Programme represents a crucial, life-changing intervention in Nigeria’s youth unemployment challenge,” said Managing Director of Co-creation HUB Ltd, Ojoma Ochai. “By connecting 340,000 vulnerable young people to high-demand creative digital skills and direct pathways into the global gig economy, we are enabling them to become immediate and sustainable income earners.”
Beyond skills acquisition, the programme places strong emphasis on inclusion. It is deliberately designed to empower underserved groups, including young women, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and displaced youth, while also ensuring broader participation among young men across different regions.
To accommodate varying experience levels, the programme offers two pathways. The Growth Pathway is tailored for individuals with existing digital or creative skills who want to refine their portfolios and secure gig opportunities. The Foundations Pathway, on the other hand, is designed for beginners seeking to build core competencies from the ground up.
The initiative is being rolled out across 10 states—Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, Delta, Edo, and Enugu—ensuring a wide national reach.
Registration has now commenced on the GATEWAY portal (gateway.cchub.africa), providing young Nigerians with access to training, portfolio development, and direct entry points into global gig work.
