The Federal Government has commenced the release of shortlisted beneficiaries under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), with a focus on the FarmerMoni loan targeting small-scale farmers and traders across Nigeria.
The programme, implemented through the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), is designed to provide interest-free loans of up to ₦300,000 to eligible Nigerians, particularly those in the agricultural and informal sectors.
Phased Release Begins with Some States
According to updates from programme sources and circulating official documents, the PDF list of successful applicants is being released in phases. So far, Bauchi and Jigawa States are among the first to have their beneficiary lists made available.
Authorities indicate that additional states will follow in subsequent batches as the verification process continues nationwide.
Applicants are advised to remain patient if their names are not yet listed, as the process is ongoing and decentralised across local government areas.
Verification Documents
Shortlisted candidates are required to proceed immediately to their respective Local Government Secretariat offices for physical verification and confirmation of their details.
In most cases, applicants will be notified within their local communities, wards, or nearest centres once their names appear on the list.
To complete the verification process, beneficiaries must present the following:
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Registered phone number
These requirements are part of efforts to ensure transparency, eliminate duplication, and validate each applicant’s eligibility before final disbursement.
How to Check
Individuals who applied for the GEEP FarmerMoni loan are strongly encouraged to check with their Local Government Secretariat to confirm their status.
Those whose names appear on the list are expected to act promptly by completing all verification steps to avoid disqualification or delays in accessing the funds.
Officials emphasise that adherence to the outlined process is critical for successful loan approval and disbursement.
Programme Objective
The GEEP initiative remains a key component of the Federal Government’s social investment strategy. By providing interest-free loans to small-scale farmers and traders, the programme aims to boost agricultural productivity, support micro-enterprises, and stimulate grassroots economic growth.
With the ongoing rollout of beneficiary lists and verification, the government is moving closer to disbursing funds to qualified Nigerians under the current phase of the scheme.
