The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has disbursed N401 million in business grants to 1,076 beneficiaries in Eket Federal Constituency. The support covered Eket, Esit Eket, ONNA, and Ibeno Local Government Areas and was targeted at improving grassroots businesses under the ARISE Agenda.
“In Eket Federal Constituency, I disbursed N401 million in business support grants to over 1,000 beneficiaries across Eket, Esit Eket, ONNA and Ibeno Local Government Areas as part of our ARISE Agenda to grow grassroots businesses and improve livelihoods,” Governor Eno posted.
The initiative is tied to the broader N2 billion agricultural and N2 billion traders’ grant packages already running across the state, aimed at supporting local farmers and traders with financial resources.
Governor Eno acknowledged the endorsement and support received from the constituency. “I am grateful for the overwhelming love, support, and endorsement for a second term from the people and leaders of this constituency,” he stated.
He added that more than 70 projects have already been completed in the region. The governor also received the NEEDS Document from the four LGAs to guide future developments and announced a high-powered committee to address the Stubb Creek Forest issue.
