Governor Uba Sani has been named the Supply Chain and Local Content Governor of the Year at the National MSME Conference 2025 in Lagos, an award presented by the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Sen. John Enoh. The recognition highlights the Governor’s bold reforms and strong support for small businesses, encouraging inclusive growth and economic development across Kaduna State.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Honourable Commissioner of Business Innovation and Technology, Mrs. Patience Fakai, outlined the five major pillars driving Kaduna’s progress in the MSME sector, noting that the administration is fully committed to strengthening the local economy. She said the ₦3 billion direct support provided through A Kori Talauci and Livelihood Support programmes has boosted productivity and improved market access for MSMEs, especially women-led enterprises focused on sustainable growth and financial inclusion.
Mrs. Fakai added that human capital development remains a priority, with 5,000 beneficiaries trained under KADSTEP and another 2,000 empowered through the Access-to-Finance and Market Delivery Programme aimed at expanding entrepreneurship and job creation. She explained that Kaduna’s women-centred economic empowerment initiatives include dedicated Women Business Clinics, a Women’s Economic Empowerment Policy, and ₦5 billion funding designed to support female entrepreneurs working to scale their businesses.
She also noted that modern vocational and skills centres located across all senatorial zones now offer training in 19 priority skills, preparing thousands of young people for employment and enterprise development. According to her, Kaduna State has met its obligations under the SMEDAN–KDSG ₦1 billion matching funds, giving MSMEs access to soft loans that encourage innovation and job creation.
