August 1, 2025 – A list of successful candidates for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is currently being shared across Facebook and other platforms, but we can confirm that the list is fake and not official. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has not released any list of shortlisted candidates yet for the 2025 recruitment.
The list in circulation is fake and not official. Both the Nigeria Customs Service and the CDCFIB have not issued any update regarding shortlisted applicants for the ongoing 2025 recruitment exercise.
The CDCFIB, which now oversees recruitment into the four major paramilitary agencies in Nigeria, consolidated the entire process under a single portal, which is recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
Any future announcements or shortlisting updates will be released strictly through this official recruitment portal.
Checks also show that the fake list currently making rounds is actually from the previous Customs recruitment exercise.
The document can be accessed at https://customs.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Applicant_list.pdf.
The link clearly indicates it is a 2019 file, not related to the ongoing 2025 recruitment as circulated on social media.
The 2025 Customs recruitment began on July 14, it was briefly suspended, and resumed on July 21. It was announced that the application would run for three weeks. Based on this, the application portal may close by August 4, or August 11 if the suspension period is taken into account.
As such, it is expected that the official shortlist will be announced during these periods.
Applicants are advised not to contact anyone claiming to have the PDF of the shortlist. What scammers are using to lure candidates is an old list, which is obviously not what the Board will use. All job seekers are urged to rely only on official communication from the CDCFIB, which is the board handling this recruitment.
