The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is hiring for several important project positions under its Conflict Prevention, Crisis Response and Resilience Programme in Katsina, Nigeria. This recruitment is for a Special Short Term Graded appointment of up to nine months.
One of the positions is for a Project Assistant (Public Information). The selected candidate will work closely with the Programme Manager and Media and Communication Officer to support communication strategies. The role involves creating social media content such as videos, graphics, and posts to raise visibility of peacebuilding activities in Katsina and Zamfara States. “The assistant will be actively involved in delivering culturally appropriate peace messages across radio, social media, and local platforms,” IOM stated.
Another opening is for a Project Associate (Protection / MHPSS). This individual will assist with logistics and operations for protection-focused activities like community outreach and support for at-risk groups. The associate will also help coordinate training, referral mechanisms, and mentorship sessions. “We are emphasizing gender, child safeguarding, GBV, and inclusion in all our protection efforts,” IOM noted.
For infrastructure-related tasks, IOM is recruiting a Project Field Associate (Civil Engineering). The successful candidate will be in charge of conducting community needs assessments and managing technical feasibility studies. They will also supervise quick impact projects in WASH, healthcare, schools, and solar-powered infrastructure. “Regular field monitoring will ensure that work by contractors and partners meets quality standards,” the organization added.
Finally, the Project Associate (Livelihoods & Climate Mitigation) role focuses on implementing livelihood support in line with environmental sustainability. Responsibilities include project monitoring, preparing status reports, and managing resources. The associate will ensure effective budget use and resource transparency. “Livelihoods and climate adaptation go hand in hand in our fieldwork,” said the programme team.
