The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said the printing portal for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Original Result Slip has not yet been activated.
The examination body made this known in a statement shared on its official X page on Monday while responding to enquiries from candidates waiting to print their result slips for admission processing and other official purposes.
According to JAMB, the delay is connected to ongoing processes involving the completion of the 2026 UTME exercise, including the recently concluded foreign examinations and the planned mop-up examination for candidates who missed the main exam through no fault of theirs.
The Board explained that the UTME is a ranking examination, meaning all related processes must be concluded before candidates can access their original result slips.
“The Board has just concluded the conduct of foreign UTME and is currently planning a mop-up examination for candidates who missed the main examination through no fault of theirs,” JAMB stated.
It added that because the UTME is used for ranking candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria, final adjustments and ranking procedures are still ongoing.
JAMB noted that the portal for printing the Original Result Slip would only be activated after all pending processes are completed.
“The Board is finalising all necessary adjustments and rankings before activating the portal for the printing of the Original Result Slip. Candidates would be informed once the process is completed,” the statement added.
The examination body also apologised to candidates affected by the delay and appealed for patience.
The Original Result Slip is an important document required during admission screening, scholarship applications, clearance processes and other official verification exercises. Unlike the notification of result initially released after the examination, the Original Result Slip usually contains the candidate’s passport photograph and full examination details.
The latest update from JAMB means candidates seeking to print the document would have to wait until the Board officially opens the portal.
As of the time of filing this report, JAMB has not announced a specific date for when the printing process will begin.
