Kano Gov Distributes Empowerment Packages to 1,130 Youth Graduates

August 9, 2025 – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has distributed empowerment packages to 1,130 graduates from six entrepreneurship skills institutes as part of efforts to boost job creation for youth. Speaking at the event, the governor said, “In our renewed effort to bolster job creation for the teeming youth across Kano State, I distributed empowerment packages to 1,130 graduates of six entrepreneurship skills institutes.”

He explained that the initiative aims at “rekindling hope, restoring dreams, and unlocking the enormous potential of youth to become self-reliant, productive, and innovative contributors to the state’s economy.”

According to him, each graduate left with a certificate and an empowerment package tailored to their area of training.

Empowerment breakdown is as follows:
1. 250 graduates of the Informatics Institute, Kura, received laptop computers and phone repair kits.
2. 140 graduates of the Livestock Institute, Bagauda, received bulls, feed, and veterinary medication.
3. 250 graduates of the Driving Institute, Kumbotso, received driving licences and certificates.
4. 200 graduates of the Horticulture Institute, Bagauda, received modern gardening tools.
5. 200 graduates of the Fisheries Institute, Bagauda, received fingerlings, weighing scales, and tarpaulin ponds.
6. 90 graduates of the Film Institute, Tiga, received digital cameras.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and economic development in Kano State.
