According to him, the reopening of the state’s skills acquisition institutions across multiple sectors has already enabled thousands of youths to begin their journey toward self-reliance. He further disclosed that direct employment opportunities have been created in key areas such as health, education, agriculture, and public works to boost economic growth and reduce unemployment.

Governor Yusuf also announced the planned reopening of the Kiru Reformatory Centre as part of a broader strategy to rehabilitate and reintegrate young offenders, particularly those impacted by drug abuse, into society as productive citizens.

Highlighting his administration’s strides in Information and Communication Technology, the Governor cited the establishment of the Kano State KASITDA and the successful hosting of the International Conference on Technology and Computing.

He said these initiatives are designed to position Kano as a leading hub for innovation, ICT training, and digital economy growth.

“On this International Youth Day, we celebrate the resilience, creativity, and potential of our young people. My government will continue to invest in their future through job creation, education, technology, and a resolute fight against the scourge of drugs,” Governor Yusuf stated.

He urged community leaders, educators, parents, the private sector, and other stakeholders to work together in creating a safe, inclusive, and prosperous environment where the youth of Kano can fully realise their dreams and contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.
