The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) has disclosed that candidates under the KASEDA/Bank of Industry (BOI) loan programme who still owe any bank are not disqualified from accessing the facility.
The agency stated that applicants who received messages indicating that their requests were not successful due to an existing Non-Performing Loan (NPL) should not consider the notification as a final rejection.
According to KASEDA, the message only indicates that the applicant must first resolve any outstanding debt with a financial institution before proceeding further in the loan process.
It explained that once such obligations are cleared, affected candidates can return to the BOI to continue their verification and documentation process without losing their place in the programme.
The agency emphasised that this provision allows applicants to regularise their financial status while still remaining eligible under the KASEDA/BOI loan scheme.
KASEDA added that the clarification is aimed at ensuring that qualified applicants are not unfairly excluded due to existing financial liabilities that can be resolved.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to supporting eligible businesses and maintaining a fair and transparent process for all participants in the programme.
