The Katsina State Civil Servant Verification Committee has met with Directors of Administration and Supplies across Ministries and Agencies in the State in preparation for the upcoming verification exercise for civil servants.

The meeting, which took place at the Conference Hall of the State Secretariat in Katsina, focused on briefing the Directors about the procedures and modalities for the verification process.

Speaking during the session, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Abubakar Gagare, stated that the screening exercise would be conducted in three key stages, namely document verification, confirmation, and data capturing.

He explained that “each staff will be assigned a registration number generated through their September pay slip, which will be used to access and complete the registration form online.”

According to the Chairman, the online portal for generating forms and registration will be open from October 20 to November 20, 2025. He said the verification process aims to improve transparency, ensure accurate staff records, and promote accountability across the state civil service.

Alhaji Abdullahi Gagare also listed the essential documents required for the exercise, including a birth certificate, Local Government Identification, and educational certificates. He added that both the certificates used at the time of first appointment and any additional qualifications obtained later must be presented.

He emphasized that “special attention will be given to the date of birth as stated on the primary school certificate,” noting its importance in validating staff information.

The Chairman further revealed that the committee will use facial capture technology instead of thumbprint identification to prevent impersonation or any form of malpractice. He said the system would enhance accuracy, ensuring that every staff member’s current facial image matches the one in the State’s civil service database.

Alhaji Abdullahi Gagare warned that any alteration in appointment offers or related documents would be thoroughly investigated. Participants raised several questions during the meeting, all of which were addressed by the committee.
