Katsina Gov flags off Gidan Amana 1,000 beneficiaries empowerment programme

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has officially flagged off the Gidan Amana 1,000 Beneficiaries Empowerment Programme, an initiative designed to support vulnerable individuals across the state through job creation and economic empowerment.

The programme featured the distribution of a wide range of items, including 100 motorcycles, 35 Hijet cars, 500 pasta-making machines, 250 grinding machines, and 20,000 exercise books aimed at supporting education and promoting self-reliance among youths and families.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Radda commended the movement for its impactful contributions to community development and citizen empowerment. He described the initiative as a reflection of leadership and service, noting that witnessing the distribution of motorcycles, cars, grinding machines, and other tools was an inspiring act of charity.

“This initiative is a clear demonstration of leadership, generosity, and commitment to improving the lives of our people,” the Governor said. “We pray that Allah blesses everyone involved and continues to guide us in serving our communities.”

He encouraged beneficiaries to make responsible use of the empowerment items to foster productive ventures, reduce idleness, and positively impact their communities. According to him, supporting one another through such acts of kindness reflects the work of God and strengthens society.

Chairman of Maiwada Global Concept, Dr. Haruna Maiwada, highlighted the foundation’s vision while acknowledging the leadership of Governor Radda. “This foundation is our journey and a testament to the trust placed in us by His Excellency, Governor Mal Dikko Umar Radda. Under his godly and visionary leadership, no one is as committed to addressing poverty in Katsina State. We are proud to play our part in continuing the noble programs of the late President Yar’Adua,” he said.

He added, “What we do, we do sincerely, between ourselves and God. We pray that our great governor is rewarded for his goodness. To all beneficiaries, may God bless and guide you. Our work has just begun, and much more is coming.”

Vice Chairman of APC Katsina, Bala Abu Musawa, expressed gratitude to the founder of Gidan Amana for initiating the programme, stressing that it complements the work of the current administration. He urged citizens to emulate the spirit of generosity and community service that the initiative represents.

Delivering a goodwill message, Engr. Muttaka emphasized the importance of unity and responsibility in utilizing the support provided. “Doing good in society is never easy,” he said, while praising Governor Radda as a leader deserving of full support from citizens.

Other dignitaries present at the event included the Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Isah Miqdad Ad Saude; Hon. Albaba of the Katsina State House of Assembly; Islamic cleric Yakubu Musa Hassan Sautus Sunnah; Deputy Chairman APC, Bala Abu Musawa; State Women’s Leader APC; Chairman Hisba Board, Abu Ammar; Engr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma; Abdullah Umar Tata; AA Rahamawa; and other political, business, and community leaders.

The empowerment programme is expected to boost small-scale businesses, create employment, promote education, and reduce poverty levels across Katsina State through practical support to citizens.
