The Katsina State Government has announced the recruitment of 2,158 qualified teachers into public schools across the state as part of efforts to improve the quality of education and address manpower gaps.
The development was approved by the state governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, with the exercise targeting 1,500 teachers for primary schools and 658 for secondary schools.
According to a statement on the recruitment, the initiative is aimed at strengthening teaching capacity and improving the teacher-pupil ratio in schools across Katsina.
The government disclosed that a committee has been set up to oversee the recruitment process and ensure transparency, noting that applications are open only to qualified indigenes of the state.
It stated that only candidates who meet the specified requirements would be shortlisted for a Computer-Based Test as part of the selection process.
The statement also warned applicants against submitting multiple entries, stressing that such actions would lead to automatic disqualification.
Prospective applicants were advised to complete their applications before the deadline, as the portal will close on April 10, 2026.
Interested candidates are required to apply through the official recruitment portal at https://katsinasemis.com/jobs, where they are expected to select their preferred schools and subject areas before submission.
