Katsina State Scholarship Board, led by its Executive Secretary, Salisu Aminu, has intensified preparations for the upcoming flag-off ceremony of the disbursement of bursary allowances, the Award of Academic Excellence, and the Special Scholarship Scheme for Students with Special Needs.

As part of the preparation, Salisu Aminu paid a visit to the Muhammadu Buhari Institute of Metrology (MBIM) and the Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM). The visit was in line with the Building Your Future Initiative introduced by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D, CON, aimed at expanding educational opportunities for Katsina State indigenes through sustained scholarship investment and human capital development.

The delegation accompanying the Executive Secretary included Hajiya Halima Lawal Usman, representing the Governing Board, Alhaji Sanusi Salisu Daura, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, and Hajiya Binta, Assistant Director, PRS. Speaking on the visit, Salisu Aminu noted that it focused on strengthening collaboration between the institutions and the Board, identifying specialized and innovative programmes that align with the state’s manpower needs, and exploring more admission opportunities for indigent students to access higher education.

He further explained that discussions also covered potential cost-sharing and subsidy arrangements designed to expand the sponsorship capacity of the Board. The team deliberated on improving student welfare in line with the objectives of the Katsina State Scholarship Board and the broader developmental priorities of the State Government.

“The engagement was productive and insightful, offering a platform to harmonize efforts toward promoting educational access, excellence, and equity in public tertiary institutions across Katsina State,” Aminu stated.

He added that the visit was both successful and historic, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to partnerships that will enhance the impact of the Building Your Future Initiative and further consolidate the transformative educational agenda of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for the youth of Katsina State.
