AB-Tech Multi-System Ltd in collaboration with the Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) Katsina has organized a one-month free training program on basic solar and electrical installations and maintenance for 100 youths in Katsina State.

The initiative was designed to address the rising problem of unemployment and lack of practical skills among young people in the community.

According to the organizers, the training was introduced after identifying the challenges faced by many youths who struggle without technical skills that can help them build sustainable careers. “Without such skills, they risk unemployment and missed opportunities for self reliance which sometimes lead to being lured into drug abuse and criminal activities,” AB-Tech noted.

The program combined both theoretical and practical sessions to ensure participants gained hands-on experience in solar energy and electrical maintenance. The training also included women, giving them the chance to develop relevant skills in renewable energy.

“Most importantly, at the end of the program, empowerment tools will be provided to the trainees so they can immediately start using their skills to earn a living,” the company added.

Katsina State, which has been dealing with security challenges and the menace of banditry, is expected to benefit socially and economically from this initiative. The organizers explained that the training will contribute to job creation and promote the use of renewable energy through solar installations.

The socio-economic impacts of the program include the creation of self employment opportunities, reduction of youth unemployment, promotion of innovation, and growth of local businesses. It also encourages young people to embrace self reliance while supporting the expansion of renewable energy solutions.

“This initiative is a big step towards empowering young people with relevant skills, creating future entrepreneurs and building a stronger society where energy solutions like solar power are promoted,” AB-Tech Multi-System Ltd emphasized.
