The Member representing Okene/Ogori-Magogo Federal Constituency in Kogi State at the National Assembly, Hon. Ozigi Muhammad Tijani, has disbursed ₦25 million as startup capital to 500 beneficiaries across his constituency to help them establish or expand their businesses.
According to his Personal Assistant, Godwin Orahachi, the empowerment programme followed a comprehensive workshop training and sensitization session that targeted women and youths. He explained that the beneficiaries were equipped with practical knowledge and skills aimed at promoting economic self-reliance. Orahachi added that at the end of the exercise, a total of ₦25 million was disbursed as startup capital to support participants’ ventures.
Hon. Ozigi Muhammad Tijani was represented at the event by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon. Nuhu, who addressed the beneficiaries on behalf of the lawmaker. In his remarks, Hon. Nuhu recalled a statement he made during the Christmas palliative distribution, where he assured constituents that they should expect more developmental interventions from his boss.
According to him, the empowerment initiative serves as proof that the earlier assurance was not a political statement but a clear plan by Hon. Tijani to uplift his people economically. He stated, “This empowerment is a continuation of our commitment to improve livelihoods in Okene/Ogori-Magogo Federal Constituency.” He further assured the audience that more empowerment programmes would be rolled out, encouraging those who were not selected this time to remain hopeful as future phases would capture more beneficiaries.
Hon. Nuhu emphasized that Hon. Ozigi Muhammad Tijani remains fully committed to protecting the interests of his constituents and upholding the mandate entrusted to him at the National Assembly.
In their reaction, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the lawmaker, reaffirming their support and confidence in his leadership. They noted that Hon. Tijani has consistently fulfilled his promises and shown genuine concern for their welfare. They described the empowerment programme as another demonstration of his people-oriented leadership and continued effort to deliver the dividends of democracy to the grassroots in Okene/Ogori-Magogo Federal Constituency.
