The Kwara State Government has approved a 40% reduction in registration fees for students in public schools taking the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). This development was confirmed in Ilorin on Monday, highlighting Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s continued efforts to make education more affordable and inclusive.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said the move is meant to reduce the financial pressure on families. “The administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has continued to demonstrate its commitment to providing quality education that is affordable to parents and guardians across the state,” Olohungbebe stated.

He added that the fee reduction reflects the government’s response to the current economic situation many families are facing. “The approval of a 40 percent reduction is a testament to the government’s responsiveness to the economic realities faced by our people,” he noted.
