June 30, 2025 – The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda, is on a two-day working visit to Borno State with the World Food Programme (WFP), focusing on long-term solutions for displaced persons.
“It was an honour to be received by His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, whose commitment to the well-being of displaced persons continues to inspire national and global partners,” the Minister said.
Working with the Borno State Government and WFP, the Ministry is pushing efforts to decongest Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps through sustainable development, skills acquisition, and livelihood programs. These initiatives are aimed at helping displaced Nigerians rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
“This visit reinforces our shared commitment under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to move beyond food assistance and empower displaced Nigerians to become productive, self-reliant, and hopeful once again,” Yilwatda added.
