MTN has announced that applications are now open for the Africa Pachi Panda Challenge 2025, an innovation programme designed for young people aged 18 to 35 across Africa. The initiative aims to advance entrepreneurial solutions to environmental challenges rooted in the food, energy, and water nexus. It promotes sustainability through technology, creativity, and green enterprise.
According to MTN, the Africa Pachi Panda Challenge is a collaborative initiative with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The programme is expected to inspire and support the development of innovative, youth-driven solutions that address critical environmental challenges. “The challenge empowers participants to contribute to sustainable development and environmental stewardship within their communities,” the organisers stated.
The main objectives of the challenge include fostering green business, empowering young leaders, and equipping youths with climate action tools. Organisers said, “PachiPanda Challenge will help tackle environmental issues through innovative solutions, and participants stand a chance to win up to N6 million in prizes.”
MTN confirmed that it will provide the required support for execution of winning ideas. For the 2025 Challenge, first-prize winning teams from each participating country received prizes valued at 5,000 USD and progressed to the Pan-African PachiPanda Contest to compete in the grand finale.
Details and prize structures for future editions of the Africa Pachi Panda Challenge will be announced later. The organisers encourage all interested participants to remain updated through the official website and verified social media platforms.
The challenge is open to young individuals between 18 and 35, as well as youth-led small and medium enterprises from select African countries. Registration is currently ongoing and applicants can apply via www.mtn.com/pachipanda-challenge/.
